Maj Gen V N Chaturvedi is an Indian Army veteran of 1983 vintage with varied exposure and experience in the educational field in the Army Educational Corps and elsewhere spanning over 36 years. He finished his schooling from La Martiniere College, Lucknow and completed his post graduation in English from the Lucknow University, wining the much coveted White Memorial Gold Medal in 1980. He has distinguished himself in the mandatory Army Courses, besides holding a Certificate in Change Management from IIM, Ahmedabad.
He embarked on his teaching career from Birla Vidyamandir and worked his way to the Kumaun University, Nainital before being commissioned in the Army in December 1983. Having gained instructional experience at the RIMC, Dehradun, ASC Centre and College,Bangalore and the Indian Military Academy,Dehradun he is also credited with commencing an English teaching course for the Government Officials of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. He has gained educational administrative experience at all formation headquarters from Brigade to Army Headquarters, besides being the Principal of Sainik School, Satara (Maharashtra). He was the Deputy Director General, Army Education at the Army Headquarters before retiring from service from the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun as its Academic Head. Post retirement he was a visiting faculty at the Graphic Era University,Dehradun and Director, SICA Group of Institutions, Indore before taking up his present appointment with the Vidya Mandir Society.
